Leverage
Definition
Borrowing money in order to command a larger position. Holding larger positions means that profits/losses are amplified. Many brokers enable leveraged trading, and offer differing leverage options to different financial instruments. For example, some Forex brokers offer Forex trading at 100:1 leverage, meaning that you can command a position of e.g. USD 100 for each 1 USD in your account.
